Our Learning - Spring Term 

Religious Education:

During our RE lessons this term we will be learning about:

  • Christmas
  • Jesus as a teacher and healer
  • Forgiveness and Lent
  • Holy Week

English:

In our English lessons this term we will be learning about:

  • Instructions
  • Descriptive writing 
  • Diary Writing
  • Recounts
  • Writing stories that use the language of fairytakes
  • Non-chronological reports
  • Poetry
  • Glossaries

Maths:

In our Maths lessons this term we will be learning about:

  • Place Value

  • Addition and Subtraction

  • Multiplication and Division 

  • Measure - money and time.

Science:

In our Science lessons this term we will be learning about:

  • Plants
  • Seasonal Change

Topic:

Our topic for the Summer Term is 'Farm to Fork.' Throughout this topic we will be learning:

  • Locational knowledge - name, locate and identify characteristics of the four countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom.  
  • Investigate patterns - to identify seasonal and daily weather patterns in the United Kingdom. 
  • To explore changed and events within our living memory.
  • To identify how food, entertainment, pastimes and the home has changed over time. 
  • To use technology safely and respectfully, keeping personal information private; identify where to go for help and support when they have concerns about materials on the internet or other online technologies. 
  • To use a range of materials creatively to design and make products. 
  • To generate, develop, model and communicate their ideas through talking, drawing and templates.
  • To use drawing and painting to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination. 
  • To explore and evaluate their own ideas. 
  • To use the basicpriciples of a healthy and varied diet to create and prepare dishes.
  • To understand where food comes from. 
  • To master practicle skills such as cutting, chopping, peeling and grating. 
  • To play tuned and untuned instruments musically.
  •  To extend our agility, balance and co-ordination, individually and with others.
  • To participate in team games developing simple tactics for attacking and defending.
